Driving Record

Positions with Laramie County that require driving as part of their job duties may be required to have a certain level of acceptable driving record. For such a position, at a minimum, you must be licensed and insured or insurable. Employees and/or Applicants Driving Records are reviewed and evaluated for acceptability on an individual basis and decisions regarding acceptable driving records are made in the discretion of the County. Items that will be reviewed include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Convictions of three or more moving violations within the previous 36 months
  • Any conviction in the last 60 months of:
    • Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol
    • Leaving the scene of an accident
    • Fleeing to avoid arrest
    • Reckless Driving
    • Assault with a motor vehicle or vehicular homicide
    • Driving without auto insurance
    • Driving on a suspended license
    • Refusal to take a blood/breathalyzer for suspected DUI or impaired driving
    • Multiple citations of any kind or indications on the driving record of a pattern of irresponsible or unsafe driving practices or history
