Amber Ash has been a Laramie County Commissioner since January 2013. Born in Chugwater, Wyoming, Amber has been a Cheyenne resident since 2003. Amber graduated from the University of Wyoming where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and a Master's Degree in Public Administration.

Prior to being elected as a County Commissioner, Amber completed a four year term as City Councilor for Ward I in Cheyenne. During her term, she successfully advocated for passage of HB0040 in 2012, which expanded the Specific Purpose Tax to include routine road maintenance. She initiated and successfully passed a number of resolutions and ordinances including rezoning Tire Centers Incorporated from Community Business to Light Industrial; appropriating funding for tennis courts at Martin Luther King, Jr. Park; and establishing the terms and conditions for the sale of alcoholic beverages at the Cheyenne Grizzlies games. She served as the Chairwoman of the Public Services Committee in 2010 and in 2012.

In addition, Amber is the former program manager for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21 CCLC) Program at the Wyoming Department of Education. She was responsible for directing, managing, and evaluating the 21 CCLC federal grant program which provides services to approximately 10,000 students each year at 112 centers throughout Wyoming. She served on the Wyoming Afterschool Alliance Board and the Wyoming Children's Trust Fund Board.

Other civic activities include the Cheyenne Christmas Parade Executive Committee, Wyoming Philanthropy Days Panelist, and The White House Project Panelist. She is a member of Pi Alpha Alpha and Pi Sigma Alpha.

Amber and her husband, Dale, have one child.
