Q: I’m already registered to vote. How does this law affect me?
A: This law does not affect voters who are already registered. To verify your status, please call the Elections Office at (307) 633-4242.
Q: I need to update my residence address. Do I need to provide proof?
A: No. To update your address now, please call the Elections Office at (307) 633-4242.
Q: I moved to Laramie County a few months ago, and I plan on registering and voting on Election Day. I don’t have a Wyoming driver’s license yet so what do I need to bring with me?
A: The Wyoming driver's license is the preferred document for registering and voting. However, if you are unable to obtain your Wyoming driver's license before the election, your out-of-state driver’s license will be accepted as proof of identity. It must be valid and REAL ID compliant to be accepted as proof of U.S. citizenship and you must also bring proof of residence.
Q: I haven’t lived in Laramie County for 30 days, but I want to register and vote in the upcoming election. Am I qualified?
A: No, you are not qualified. A qualified elector must be a bona fide resident of Wyoming for at least 30 days before the election in which they intend to vote.
Q: I qualify under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA). How does this law affect me?
A: This law does not affect UOCAVA voters who temporarily register and request absentee ballots using a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA). UOCAVA voters who “permanently” register using the Wyoming Voter Registration Application(PDF, 873KB) will have to provide proof of identity, U.S. citizenship, and residence.
Q: My last name on two of my documents is different – one has my maiden name and the other has my married name. Do I need to bring additional documentation?
A: Yes, we need to establish a link between your previous name and your current name. Additional documentation could include a copy of your marriage certificate or an ID with your maiden name on it.
