Sheriff Brian Kozak

Brian was elected Sheriff on November 8, 2022. He began his career in 1986 as a Mesa, AZ police officer and retired in 2006 to become the Chief of Police in the ski resort town of Avon, CO. He was then appointed as Cheyenne’s police chief in 2010 and served until 2021, becoming Cheyenne’s longest serving chief. He holds a master’s degree in education and a bachelor's degree in business.
