LARAMIE COUNTY CLERK’S OFFICE LAUNCHES DOCUMENT ALERT

The Laramie County Clerk’s office is pleased to announce the launch of a free notification service to help prevent property fraud. The Document Alert system sends an e-mail alert to subscribers when property, liens, or other recordings are filed in Laramie County using their information.  The new system is voluntary, and residents will have to sign up for notifications.

Document Alert examines new recordings and corrections made to old documents looking for matches on customer-specified criteria, such as name or property’s legal description.  When a possible match is identified, the system sends an email notification detailing the relevant information. Customers can then determine if the recording is legitimate or fraudulent. Documents searched include property records, such as deeds and mortgages, government liens, trusts, and power-of-attorney filings.

To subscribe to the free service, set up an account at idocmarket.com, click on Document Alerts, and select Document Alert setup.  Subscribers will customize the alerts they want to receive based on name variations and property information.  Click here for step-by-step instructions on setting up your personalized “Document Alert.”(PDF, 151KB)  You can also visit our office at the Laramie County Governmental Complex, Laramie County Clerk Real Estate-Recording, 309 W 20th St., Suite 1600.  For more information, call 633-4350.
