Brian retired as Cheyenne’s longest serving police chief with 11 years of service. He began his law enforcement career with the Mesa, Arizona Police Department. After 22 years, he retired from Mesa to accept a position as police chief in Avon, Colorado, coming to Cheyenne four years later. Sheriff Kozak holds a master’s degree in education and a bachelor’s degree in business.
