The Laramie County Sheriff's Office Posse is more than a volunteer organization - it's an opportunity to become part of a team dedicated to serving others, supporting public safety, and strengthening our community.
As a posse volunteer, you may assist with community events, VIN inspections, fingerprinting, traffic control, search and rescue, public safety initiatives, and other activities that help keep Laramie County safe. Whether you are interested in public service, seeking new challenges, or simply want to give back to your community, we invite you to apply.
Minimum Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Demonstrate good character, integrity, and a commitment to public service.
Disqualifying Factors
- A felony conviction.
- A misdemeanor conviction for a crime of domestic violence.
- A conviction for Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
- A conviction involving a property crime.
- Recent illegal drug use.
Selection Process
To ensure our volunteers meet the high standards of the Laramie County Sheriff's Office, applicants must successfully complete:
- Application and Background Questionaire.
- Oral Board Interview.
- Integrity Interview.
- Background Investigation.
- Mental Health Screening.
- Drug Screening.
- Fingerprinting.
